IT’S 25 years since identical twin brothers Craig and Charlie Reid burst across the pop firmament, thanks to Letter to America’s reassuringly untutored Scots tones and memorably singalongable chorus.

The duo have been producing pop anthems and touchingly heartfelt ballads ever since and, as superfan David Tennant points out in his entertaining sleevenotes, there’s few acts who write songs as good as Sunshine on Leith (No. 41 back in 1988, shame on you record-buying public) or as hilariously vitriolic as Hate My Love (“You’re worse than drink, you’re worse than crack, for you they should bring hanging back”).
