Dan Croll: Sweet Disarray

LIVERPOOL-based singer-songwriter Croll is one to watch.
A graduate of Paul McCartney’s Liverpool School of Performing Arts, he was one of the few selected to have a one-to-one with the great man himself.
No pressure then. Sweet Disarray, though, shows he is well up to the task.
The joyous, effervescent combination of folk and Casio electronics that makes up From Nowhere still sounds fresh despite having been kicking around since September 2012, Compliment Your Soul nails the whole raga rock schtick perfectly, while closer Home is as warm as its title suggests.
The whole thing is enormously listenable and, in the world of Noah and the Whale and Mumford and Sons, it deserves to make Mr Croll into just as big a name.
