Kylie Minogue: Kiss Me Once

THERE was much excitement in Thirty Three and a Third towers when La Minogue’s latest landed.
Sadly, said joy was soon confined. The pop princess’s stock has risen even more in recent months with her show-stealing turn on The Voice, which is just as well – because this new album isn’t much cop.
We know Kylie’s an attractive woman – there’s no need to rub our faces in it by naming three songs Les Sex, Sexy Love and, ahem, Sexercize.
It’s not just the titles that are suspect – the majority of the album sounds like the 45-year-old desperately clinging to her youth and as a result sounding desperately old.
The title track is the one occasion she sounds comfortable in her fortysomething skin. It’s the stand-out track on what is a heartbreakingly disappointing album.
