Walkmen singer Leithauser might fancy himself as a bit of a 21st century Sinatra on Black Hours’ front cover, but he’s no indie Robbie Williams.
After opening proceedings with the sombre 5am, single Alexandra swings along marvellously and by rights should be a smash hit. He’s just as thrilling when putting the guitars at the forefront on I Don’t Need Anyone and on the weary bar ballad St Mary’s County. One not to be missed.
