Recording an album of standards to pitch younger singers at a different market is an idea as old as the hills – but Gaga has taken an added risk by teaming up with crooning legend Bennett.
Its one that pays off, though, as the controversial popster proves herself to be the perfect foil for Bennett’s ageless silken tones in the 15 jazz classics that make up this terrific set. Even the cover’s a cracker.
