Ms Trainor‘s 2014 megahit All About That Bass was as ubiquitous a single as they get but if you’d mentally filed her into the draw marked one-hit wonders, think again.
Title is far from original – Girls Aloud, Spice Girls, All Saints and Paloma Faith were just a handful of the influences I could hear all over its 11 tracks (15 on the deluxe edition) – but it is certainly poptastic.
The 21-year-old is a super-smart lyricist with a voice to reckon with and songs to match, with the Amy Winehouse-like Walkashame, Title itself and Dear Future Husband – not forgetting current single Lips Are Movin – just some of the highlights.
