Circa Waves are a four-piece guitar band from Liverpool and their debut is a brisk, sometimes thrilling, dash through 13 tracks of mostly high octane indie rock.
They have been championed by their local press and latterly in the NME as yet another great white hope of guitar music.
Since indie was effectively born as a genre in the early 1980s, though, there have been more of these bands than you can shake a stick at – and Circa Waves do nothing on Young Chasers to suggest that they offer anything hugely new.
