Californian dude Mac is so laid back he’s on the floor.
This follow-up to last year’s critically acclaimed Salad Days is 1970s style funky rock which soaks up the influence of Hall and Oates, Steely Dan and others and throws in some helpfully memorable melodies to create a concoction which is altogether rather enjoyable.
Dreadful closer My House By The Water lets the side down somewhat, but diligent use of the stop button makes for an ideal summer album.
