Dave Gahan & Soulsavers, Angels and Ghosts

The Depeche Mode frontman seems to be getting a second lease of life with Northern dance producers Soulsavers.
This follow-up to 2012’s The Light The Dead See and the less-than-chirpy titles are an accurate reflection of their dark electro-blues.
Gahan’s pop sensibilities ensure that it’s more than an attempt to curry favour with the hipsters though. Angels and Ghosts is hugely playable and contains some of the most commercial and enjoyable music since the early-90s days of Violator and Songs of Faith and Devotion.
